R4是一種能夠存取破解遊戲的燒錄卡，將模擬器上的軟體存入卡中，就能在任天堂DS主機上使用。在2008年，任天堂聯合其他54家日本遊戲開發商，對R4及其他4家NDS燒錄卡的進口及通路商提起訴訟。日本於2012年正式宣布不允許該盜版軟體進口。

2013年，東京法院宣判三家販售NDS的R4燒錄卡廠商，需要賠償任天堂與其他49家遊戲開發商約9,500萬日圓。R4除應用在NDS主機外，並可燒錄PSP等其他遊戲。目前，盜版問題最嚴重的地區是中國，部分製造商紛紛將任天堂及索尼的遊戲灌入主機販售，並在網路及亞洲地區公然販售。儘管台灣不能販售R4及燒錄卡相關產品，但在網路上仍能看到許多人公開販售盜版主機，嚴重侵犯日本廠商的權益。

R4 is a type of flashcard that can access and play cracked games by storing software from emulators on the card for use on the Nintendo DS console. In 2008, Nintendo, along with 54 other Japanese game developers, filed a lawsuit against four importers and distributors of R4 flashcards, including the R4 maker. In 2012, Japan officially announced the prohibition of importing such pirated software.

In 2013, the Tokyo court ruled that three manufacturers selling R4 flashcards for NDS were required to compensate Nintendo and 49 other game developers approximately 95.6 million Japanese yen. The R4, in addition to being applicable to the NDS console, can also copy games for other platforms such as PSP. Currently, the most serious issue of piracy is in China, where many manufacturers openly load Nintendo and Sony games onto consoles for sale, both online and in the Asian region. Despite Taiwan's prohibition of selling R4 and related products, there are still many individuals openly selling pirated consoles on the internet, seriously infringing on the rights of Japanese manufacturers.
