Recently, the police in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand, successfully arrested a criminal group from mainland China consisting of 14 members. Each member has been sentenced to 50 years in prison, primarily for recruiting underage girls to engage in explicit live broadcasts. Despite Thailand's prohibition of gambling, the adult entertainment industry is not banned; however, there are clear legal regulations and severe penalties for involvement with underage girls.

According to the law, engaging in any relationship with females under the age of 14 is considered a crime, regardless of the reasons. For females aged 14 to 18, consensual relationships may also lead to convictions if the female later regrets and files charges.
