資深港星馮淬帆（藝名緊哥），享年81歲，近期香港娛樂圈傳來他辭世的消息，引發廣泛關注。馮淬帆早已在台灣定居，至今已超過三十年。近年他逐漸減少作品的參與，最後一次亮相銀幕是在去年拍攝、今年初公映的台灣電影《鬼們之蝴蝶大廈》。

感情方面，馮淬帆終身未婚。年輕時，他曾與汪明荃有過青澀戀情，但最終因人生道路不同而分開；1981年，他與港姐季軍曾慶瑜因戲生情，但戀情僅維持兩年。生前，馮淬帆以低調且專注演藝為人熟知，對作品有自己嚴格的選擇標準，也一直保持謙遜的個人形象。

Veteran Hong Kong actor Anthony Fong Chui-Fan (nicknamed “Gan Gor”), aged 81, has passed away, sending waves of grief through the Hong Kong and Taiwan entertainment circles. Fong had long been residing in Taiwan for over three decades. In recent years, he had significantly reduced his work in the industry, with his last film appearance in the Taiwanese movie “Ghosts of Butterfly Mansion”, shot last year and released earlier this year.

Born into a theatrical family, Fong’s father, Fong Jing-Hua, was a renowned Cantonese opera performer. Anthony Fong began his television career in 1965 with Rediffusion Television, and in 1968, he joined TVB, quickly rising to fame as a leading actor in the long-running drama “Dreams Broken in Love”. In the 1980s, he expanded into film, starring in popular comedy series such as “The Best Buddies” and “Winners and Fools”, with a memorable scene in “Chicken and Duck Talk” (or “The Newly Weds”, depending on translation) becoming a classic. Despite his success in comedy, Fong often expressed his dissatisfaction with such roles, describing them as “nonsensical” and feeling trapped: “It’s sad to be unable to break out of that frame, always having to shoot films I don’t like just to make a living.”

In his later years, Fong faced health challenges. He had previously revealed that he suffered from diabetes and maintained a light diet. Recently, he disclosed on Facebook that he had been hospitalized due to illness: “I was in the hospital for two months and three days, and everything feels numb.” Although now discharged, he still relied on an oxygen machine for daily life, which caused him considerable inconvenience. His declining health drew concern from fans and colleagues alike.

Fong remained unmarried throughout his life. In his youth, he had a brief romantic relationship with fellow actress Liza Wang, which ended due to differing life paths. In 1981, he also had a two-year relationship with Miss Hong Kong runner-up Tsang Ching-Yu, sparked by their on-screen collaboration. Known for his low-profile lifestyle and dedication to acting, Fong maintained high personal standards in choosing roles and was respected for his humility and professionalism.

Notably, just five days before his passing, Fong paid tribute to his close friend Shiu-Keung Hui, writing on social media: “Wait for me over there, my brother; I’ll follow soon.” His death marks the end of an era for Hong Kong and Taiwanese cinema, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and enduring performances that continue to resonate with fans.
