近日，廣東東莞市人民公園爆出一起令人震驚的動物虐待事件。有網友在社交平臺上反映，公園內至少有四十多隻流浪貓疑似遭到人為虐待，其中多隻貓咪被發現時眼部受傷，甚至出現“遭剜眼”的慘狀，引發社會強烈憤怒與關注。相關照片與影片曝光後，迅速在網路上瘋傳，大量愛貓人士與動保團體紛紛要求徹查此事，呼籲加強對公園流浪動物的保護。

事件傳出後，人民公園方面否認曾經忽視管理，表示第一時間已向公安部門報告，警方目前已正式介入調查。由於案件性質惡劣、涉及人為暴力傷害動物，警方正在調取監控畫面，並對近期出入公園的可疑人員進行排查，試圖找出可能涉案的施虐者。
