WWE is scheduled to hold WrestleMania 42 on April 18 and 19, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, but as of early March 2026, ticket sales have reportedly been facing noticeable challenges. Current sales figures indicate that each night of the event has sold approximately 36,000 tickets, about 17,000 fewer than during the same period the previous year, with the overall sales pace trailing by roughly 19 percent, suggesting that market demand has yet to meet expectations.
Several factors are widely believed to have contributed to the weaker-than-expected sales performance. The most prominent issue is the significant increase in ticket prices following the company’s transition under the TKO Group. Entry-level single-day tickets reportedly start at around $264, while premium VIP packages can reach as high as $16,000, placing attendance beyond the financial reach of many ordinary fans and families. Veteran professional wrestler Matt Hardy has publicly criticized the pricing strategy, arguing that excessively high ticket costs risk alienating WWE’s core fan base.
Another key factor is venue fatigue. WrestleMania is being held in the same city and the same stadium for two consecutive years—an unusually rare occurrence in the event’s history. Many fans who already traveled to Las Vegas for last year’s show may feel less motivated to make another long-distance trip so soon, reducing repeat attendance demand. At the same time, rising accommodation and dining costs in Las Vegas, combined with broader economic pressures and softer tourism trends in the United States, have further dampened consumer spending willingness.
The event lineup itself has also not been fully finalized, which has slowed ticket momentum. So far, only a limited number of headline matches—such as a potential World Heavyweight Championship challenge involving Roman Reigns—have been discussed publicly, while most major matchups remain unannounced. As a result, many fans appear to be delaying purchases until the full card is officially revealed.
WWE’s marketing strategy has also generated controversy. The company reportedly prohibited bars and restaurants within a 50-mile radius of the stadium from hosting official watch parties, a policy that has drawn criticism from local businesses and observers who believe it diminishes the citywide festival atmosphere typically associated with WrestleMania week. Although WWE introduced discounted two-day combo ticket packages priced at around $739 in late February 2026 in an effort to stimulate demand, market response has remained relatively muted, indicating that pricing, location strategy, and promotional timing continue to present challenges.
