《PokéPark KANTO》
The Pokémon Company has officially announced that the world’s first permanent outdoor Pokémon-themed facility, PokéPark KANTO, will open on February 5, 2026 (Thursday). Located within Yomiuriland, a popular amusement park in the lush Tama Hills of the Kanto region, this park represents a major milestone for the Pokémon franchise—its first long-term, nature-integrated outdoor attraction designed for immersive adventure and real-world interaction.
To celebrate the announcement, the company released a 90-second, one-shot stop-motion promotional video that vividly captures the park’s spirit. The film showcases PokéPark KANTO’s main features: interacting with Pokémon in the Pokémon Forest, shopping for exclusive items at the Trainer’s Market, enjoying spectacular shows in the Gym, and feeling the thrill of battles in the Battle Arena. Every detail is crafted to make visitors feel as though they’ve stepped directly into the Pokémon world.
The park will host over 600 Pokémon living throughout its forests, towns, and rivers, creating a fully realized Pokémon ecosystem. Upon entering the main plaza, visitors will be greeted by iconic starter Pokémon—Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle—joyfully roaming about. The adventure begins at Professor Ishiguro’s Research Lab, where guests receive missions and guidance for their Pokémon journey. Fans can also visit the Pokémon Enthusiast Shop, which sells exclusive merchandise and collaborative items available only at PokéPark KANTO.
One of the most stunning areas is the Pokémon Forest, stretching about 500 meters in length. This beautiful woodland features uneven terrain, tunnels, grass patches, and winding mountain paths. Many Pokémon native to the Kanto region—such as Pikachu, Oddish, Pidgey, and Snorlax—can be seen exploring, foraging, or even engaging in friendly battles. Visitors are encouraged to quietly observe these interactions and enjoy a truly immersive ecological experience reminiscent of the animated series.
Next is Kusasha Town, a lively settlement filled with shops, entertainment, and Pokémon-themed attractions. It includes the Trainer’s Market, a Pokémon Center, a Friend Mart, and a Gym. Daily parades and performances bring both Pokémon and Trainers together in joyful celebration. The Primarina Fountain stands as the town’s symbol, welcoming everyone with dazzling water shows that embody the Pokémon world’s energy and friendship.
Inside the Pokémon Center, visitors are warmly greeted by Chansey, who cheerfully welcomes every Trainer. Here, guests can witness the heartwarming sight of Pokémon being restored to full health using the iconic healing machine—a moment that turns a simple visit into a cherished memory.
Nearby, the Friend Mart offers special drinks and snacks, allowing Trainers to relax and recharge after their adventures. The shop’s cozy design, inspired by the Kanto region’s nostalgic charm, makes it a perfect rest stop between explorations.
PokéPark KANTO marks a new chapter in Pokémon’s history—transforming the fantasy world of the games and anime into a tangible, real-life adventure. Visitors can encounter, interact, and bond with Pokémon in natural surroundings, reliving classic moments from the franchise in an entirely new way. As its grand opening approaches, excitement among fans continues to grow, with many predicting that this park will spark a new global wave of Pokémon tourism.
