1986年推出的街機遊戲《未來戰士》由Tecmo公司開發和發行，以橫向捲軸移動的方式呈現。遊戲後來被移植到X68000、Commodore 64、Master System、ZX Spectrum、Amstrad CPC和Atari Lynx等平台。Lynx版本略有不同，總共包含23個關卡。此作品後來被收錄在Xbox平台的《Tecmo Classic Arcade》合輯中，同時也在Wii Virtual Console上販售。

故事發生在經過45億年的未來地球。在歷經許多不同的領導長時間控制後，屬於他們的時代紛紛落幕。在19XX年，由頭目Rygar (Ligar) 領導的恐怖生物軍團突然出現，試圖掌控整個世界。苦不堪言的人們把所有希望都寄託在一個預言的降臨，相信來自阿爾格斯的戰士將再次重返人間，對抗邪惡大軍。

遊戲總共有27個關卡，每個舞台都有時間上的限制。一開始有兩台數，玩家操控傳說中的勇者進行戰鬥，武器是可伸縮攻擊的盾牌。跳躍在敵人頭上可以使其暫停。隨著關卡的進行，後續可以獲得五種裝備進行強化。街機版本的設定，盾劍是可以向上直接攻擊，取得特殊道具就可呈現無敵狀態。每個關卡有時間上的限制，站在特定位置就會出現寶箱，畫面採用2D橫向卷軸進行，從左移動到右邊的終點就算過關，可善用石頭堆來躲避採固定跳躍的敵人。有別於FC版本，每個小關卡並無頭目，只要走到最後關卡打敗頭目就可全破，整體的難度並沒有任天堂紅白機FC版本高。

The arcade game "Rygar," released in 1986, was developed and published by Tecmo. The story unfolds in the future Earth after 4.5 billion years. After various rulers controlled the world for an extended period, their eras came to an end. In the year 19XX, a legion of terrifying creatures led by the boss Rygar (Ligar) suddenly appears, attempting to seize control of the entire world. The beleaguered people place all their hopes on the prophecy of a warrior from Argos returning to combat the forces of evil.

The game consists of a total of 27 levels, each with a time limit. Initially, players have two lives, controlling the legendary hero in battle using a shield with a retractable attack. Jumping on enemies' heads can temporarily immobilize them. As the game progresses, players can acquire five different upgrades to enhance the abilities.
