遊戲以RPG方式進行，可以存三個檔案，共有四種模式：

1.故事模式：從第23屆天下一武道會到貝吉塔的戰鬥。

2.有八位戰士參賽的天下一武道會。

3.只能透過Super Game Boy進行的模式，可以使用悟空及其他角色。

4.修行。

此外，還有四種小遊戲：

1.悟空必須要發元氣彈擊中磚塊，會增加氣的能量(Ki)。

2.切換A跟B紐來捕捉泡泡，會增加悟空的速度。

3.當畫面出現閃爍的圓圈時，按AB紐來填滿能量表，悟空就可以學習界王拳。

4.沿著蛇道來到界王星，可以透過俯衝、跳躍或飛行。按A是跳躍，按B是提高速度，持續向右移動即可抵達終點。

The story begins at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, where players must defeat the formidable Demon King Piccolo, concluding with the Saiyan saga. In the first chapter, Goku trains in the heavenly realm, where the celestial gods request to see the results of his three-year training and engage in battle with a duplicate Goku. After winning, various stats increase, and victory yields a Senzu Bean. The adventure then unfolds at the World Martial Arts Tournament, culminating in the defeat of Vegeta and his transformed Great Ape form.

The game features rich character dialogue, initially offering only three card command options but expanding to seven as the player progresses. Main commands include attack, move, dodge, special, end, punch, and kick. Key stats include battle power, health, ki energy, speed, attack power, and defense. Effective use of techniques like the Turtle School's Kamehameha and Spirit Bomb aids in achieving victory in battles.

The game follows an RPG format, allowing for three save files and featuring four modes:

1.Story Mode: From the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament to the battle with Vegeta.

2.World Martial Arts Tournament with eight participating fighters.

3.A mode exclusively accessible through Super Game Boy, allowing the use of Goku and other characters.

4.Training.

Additionally, there are four mini-games:

1.Goku must hit bricks with Energy Blasts to increase Ki energy.

2.Switching between A and B buttons to catch bubbles, boosting Goku's speed.

3.When a flashing circle appears on the screen, pressing AB fills the energy gauge, allowing Goku to learn the Kaio-ken technique.

4.Navigating through Snake Way to reach King Kai's planet, using dive, jump, or flight. Pressing A jumps, pressing B increases speed, and continuous rightward movement leads to the finish line.
