1990年10月12日由科拿米製作與發行的Game Boy射擊遊戲《兵蜂》(ツインビーだ!!/TwinBee Da!!/ It's TwinBee!!/ TwinBee GB),記憶體有1M,最多可以兩人同時遊戲。直到1994年才有歐洲海外版上市。這是該系列的第4款作品,接續紅白機(Famicom)的3代。其他移植的平台有GBC、PSP、3DS Virtual Console。
故事描述住在碗島(Donburi)的科文博士(Dr.Cinnamon)收到來自從小就是競爭對手的尼吉博士(Dr.Nikki)挑戰書。上面寫著:「你居然敢毀掉我的創作香料王(King Spice)跟Poko Poko,這次由我來當你的對手在Puka Puka島上等你!」。於是在未告知博士的情況下,1號機TwinBee跟2號機WinBee前往Puka Puka,留下GwinBee機來保護科學家們。
遊戲由6個關卡所組成,舞台的最後都有一個需要擊敗的頭目。在第5關中,有5個頭目需要擊敗。如果收集星星會清除屏幕上的所有敵人,水果會增加分數,牛奶會增加一條命,而糖果則可以使子彈變成三方向射擊。
灰色的鈴鐺可以增加分數,如果是持續取得,分數會是500、1000、2000、5000、10,000分。黑色的鈴鐺會增加機體的速度,最高可以提升到第3級。白色的鈴鐺可以增加火力,變成雙子彈射擊。拿到圖案鐘就可以得到兩個透明子機,跟著機體移動,火力更強大。拿到條文鈴就可以在機體周圍創造出屏障,吸收敵人大部分的攻擊。
畫面採用垂直移動進行。正上方出現的數字是目前的得分。右上方則是擁有的台數。A是地對空炸彈,B則是空中射擊子彈,只要持續按住就能有連發功能。一開始就能調整設定,可增加機體移動的速度、按鈕功能跟四種舞台挑選。整體的操作性與難度都比紅白機(Famicom)版本大幅改善。
當機身被炸到時,僅有一次救護車會出現修理。當徹底掛掉時,靈魂會出現。重新出現的主機取得後,之前累積的火力就能重現。需注意如果手被炸到,則地對空的炸彈就無法使用。
當從雲中射出一個獎勵鈴鐺,直到它中間出現一個圓圈,取得鈴鐺的時候。按暫停並輸入經典的Konami代碼上、上、下、下、左、右、左、右、B、A。這時候就會出現三個子機。大幅增加火力及射擊範圍。但每次遊戲只能使用一次。
The shooting game "TwinBee," developed and released by Konami on October 12, 1990, for the Game Boy (ツインビーだ!!/TwinBee Da!!/ It's TwinBee!!/ TwinBee GB), had a memory size of 1M and supported multiplayer mode for up to two players. It wasn't until 1994 that the European overseas version was released. This installment is the fourth in the series, following the third generation on the Famicom. It was also ported to other platforms such as GBC, PSP, and 3DS Virtual Console.
The story revolves around Dr. Cinnamon, who resides on Donburi Island, receiving a challenge letter from his longtime rival, Dr. Nikki. The letter accuses Dr. Cinnamon of destroying Dr. Nikki's creations, King Spice and Poko Poko, and challenges him to a duel on Puka Puka Island.
Without informing Dr. Cinnamon, TwinBee and WinBee embark on the mission to Puka Puka, leaving GwinBee behind to protect the scientists.
The game consists of 6 levels, each ending with a boss that needs to be defeated. In the fifth level, there are 5 bosses. Collecting stars clears all enemies on the screen, fruits increase the score, milk adds an extra life, and candies turn missle into triple shots.
Various colored bells serve as power-ups in the game: gray bells increase score points (500, 1000, 2000, 5000, 10,000), black bells boost the ship's speed up to level 3, and white bells enhance firepower, enabling twin bullet shots. Pattern bells create two transparent sub-aircraft that follow the main ship, and barrier bells generate protective barriers around the ship.
The game features vertical scrolling gameplay, with the current score displayed at the top and the number of lives on the top right. Button A activates ground-to-air bombs, while button B fires missle in the air, allowing for continuous firing by holding down the button. Players can adjust settings at the beginning of the game, including ship speed, button functions, and stage selection, improving overall playability and difficulty compared to the Famicom version.
When the ship sustains damage, a rescue vehicle may appear once for repairs. If the ship is destroyed, a soul appears, granting the player access to accumulated firepower if collected. However, if the player's ship is destroyed by a direct hit, ground-to-air bombs cannot be used.
To activate a power-up bell, players must shoot the bell until a circle appears in the middle. By pausing the game and entering the classic Konami code (up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A), three sub-aircraft will appear, significantly increasing firepower and coverage. However, this feature can only be used once per game.
