In November 2010, Disney released Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, a sequel to Epic Mickey, an action-adventure game developed by Disney Interactive Studios. Continuing the story from the first game, the protagonist Mickey Mouse finds himself accidentally transported into the Wasteland—a world full of forgotten characters from Disney's 85-year history—while playing in Yen Sid the sorcerer’s workshop. Earthquakes and mysterious events threaten the safety of this land. Mickey and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit must team up to uncover the truth behind these incidents and save this fantastical and perilous world. They embark on another challenging journey to resolve the long-standing grievances of the Wasteland's residents.

The gameplay builds upon the story and mechanics from the first game, combining action, adventure, and puzzle-solving elements. The game supports both single-player and cooperative multiplayer modes, where up to two players can play simultaneously. Players must make use of Mickey and Oswald’s unique abilities to overcome various challenges and enemies.

The game is controlled using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. Players use these controllers to move their characters, attack, and utilize various abilities. Mickey’s primary skill is the use of Yen Sid’s magical paintbrush, which allows him to spray paint and thinner. Paint is used to restore and create objects, while thinner is used to dissolve and destroy them. Oswald can use his ears to fly and remotely control electricity to attack or solve puzzles. His ears also allow him to glide. The game is one of the few Disney titles to feature a more mature, slightly darker tone.

In single-player mode, players can switch between Mickey and Oswald, using their respective abilities to solve puzzles and engage in combat. In multiplayer co-op mode, one player controls Mickey, while the other controls Oswald. Each level in the game features unique designs and challenges. The primary levels include:

Collecting six reels unlocks a cartoon featuring the Mad Doctor, while collecting fourteen reels unlocks Oswald’s classic short film, Oh What a Knight.
