Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is a character co-created by Disney and Ub Iwerks in the early days, and finally, in 2006, the rights to the character were regained by Disney.

In the game, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is imbued with dark energy and presides over the Wasteland, a realm filled with many forgotten characters from Disney's 85-year history. Oswald intends to use the Phantom Blot to destroy Mickey and the world. Mickey, lured into the Wasteland by the Shadow Blot, will use his painting skills to combat the Phantom Blot in order to thwart Oswald's plan.
