1989年4月27日，由Hudson製作及發行的《凄之王》（凄ノ王伝説/Susanoou Densetsu），是根據永井豪在80年代推出的動漫《凄之王》所改編的RPG遊戲。故事講述主角朱紗真悟擁有三大淒之王的力量，敵人為奪取這股力量，利用他的女友雪代進行脅迫。成功激怒真悟後，使三大淒之王離開他的身體。為對抗自己的分身，真悟展開尋找三隻巨大淒之王的冒險。遊戲可以進行密碼跟儲存兩種方式續關，因早期的RPG無記憶電池，之後在CD-ROM上市後就能方便的存檔。

在畫面可以看到敵人。當靠近時就會切入SLG的模擬戰鬥模式。如果外出沒有持續進食就會開始減少血量。遊戲有分晝夜變化。當碰到重要的人物，不用指令就會開啟對話。最多有255種糧食，攜帶的物品最多有19種，攻防數據最高達到255，經驗值的上限是65535。

透過方向鍵就能進行移動。同時按R+S是重啟，按S會出現目前狀態跟文字速度，I是確認跟調主選單，II是取消。

主選單的指令有戰鬥(せんとう)、對話(話す)、超能力(ESP)、道具(どうぐ)、裝備(そうび)、狀態(じようたい)、露營(キヤンプ)、停泊(ていはく)。戰鬥時的指令有攻擊(攻)、超能力(ESP)、道具(どうぐ)、裝備(そうび)、狀態(じようたい)、取消(パス)。

遊戲的特色在於獨特戰鬥型態及豐富的視覺畫面，而且還隱藏著各式各樣的道具。跟大部分RPG遊戲不同的是需要在解決事件之後才能得到經驗値，所以無須花太多時間在打怪。

主要隱藏的秘技有以下：

1.想要即刻組成最強的隊伍的話，在結局結束時按RUN，這時候美劍老人就會出現，提供最強的密碼。只要在接關處輸入，就能擁有最強的數據。經驗值65535丶錢65535丶食糧255丶手榴彈15丶藥15。全員會裝備最強的防具，美劍千草及美劍十二神都在隊伍中。

2.戰鬥時會持續出現給予敵人多少損傷的訊息。想要節省時間，可以按選擇。HP會顯示在左邊。將訊息的速度調整為1。若一邊按II。一邊按選擇。戰鬥訊息就會出現。只要將答案設定為是。戰鬥時的訊息就會消失。

3.當地圖上沒有敵人。然後進行紮營。這時候會發現敵人消失了。有時候在晚上進行會失敗。

4.在特定的地點碰到敵人像是是魔獸王、海凄之王跟邪教之祖。這些都不好對付。這時候趕快離開戰鬥現場。這時候意外發現居然得到打倒敵人時才會得到的EXP跟金錢。

5.先打倒海裡的凄之王。到南邊港鎮的房子內向一名少年取得Hu力一卜。然後轉往旅館詢問。就會出現隱藏遊戲「加農砲」。每通一個關卡獎金就能提高。但難度也會持續增加。

On April 27, 1989, Hudson released "Susanoou Densetsu" (凄ノ王伝説/Susanoou Legend/凄之王), an RPG game based on Go Nagai's anime "Susanoou" from the 1980s. The story follows the protagonist, Shuzamamoru Satoru, on an adventure to confront his own doppelganger and search for three colossal Susanoou.

In the game, you can see enemies on the screen. When you get close, it switches to a simulation battle mode similar to SLG (Simulation Game). If you don't eat continuously while outside, your health will start to decrease. The game features day and night changes, and when encountering important characters, dialogue opens without using commands. You can carry up to 255 types of food and a maximum of 19 items. You can move using the directional keys. Pressing R+S simultaneously restarts, and pressing S shows the current status and text speed. I is for confirmation and adjusting the main menu, while II is for canceling.

The main menu commands include Battle (せんとう), Talk (話す), ESP, Items (どうぐ), Equipment (そうび), Status (じようたい), Camp (キヤンプ), and Anchorage (ていはく). In battle, the commands are Attack (攻), ESP, Items, Equipment, Status, and Cancel (パス).

The game's distinctive features lie in its unique combat style and rich visual presentation, with various hidden items. Unlike most RPGs, experience points are obtained after resolving events, saving time on monster fighting.

To immediately form the strongest team, press RUN when the ending concludes. The Swordmaster will appear, providing the strongest password. Input it during the continuation, and you'll have the strongest data—65535 experience, 65535 money, 255 food, 15 grenades, and 15 medicines. All members will equip the best armor, including Swordmaster Chigusa and Swordmaster Twelve Gods.

During battles, continuous damage information appears. To save time, press SELECT. HP will display on the left. Adjust the message speed to 1. While pressing II and SELECT simultaneously, battle messages will appear. Set the answer to "yes," and battle messages will disappear.

When there are no enemies on the map, set up camp. You'll find enemies have disappeared. Sometimes attempting this at night may fail.

In specific locations, encountering formidable enemies like the Demon King, Ocean Susanoou, and Cult Founder is challenging. Quickly leave the battle scene.

Surprisingly, defeating enemies here yields EXP and money.

Defeat the Ocean Susanoou first. In a house in the southern port town, get "Hu Power One" from a young man. Then inquire at the inn. A hidden game, "Cannon," will appear. Each cleared level increases the reward, but the difficulty continues to rise.
