As early as 2018, while the Zong family was compiling a chronicle of Zong Qinghou’s father, it was confirmed that in addition to his well-known eldest daughter Zong Fuli, Zong Qinghou actually had six more children. Reports state that Zong fathered three children with Wahaha co-founder Du Jianying: Zong Jichang (born in 1996), Zong Jieli (born in 1998), and a third child named Zong Jisheng, whose exact birth year has yet to be verified. Prior to his relationship with Du Jianying, Zong reportedly had a daughter with a female employee during his earlier years; the mother and daughter later settled in the United States. It is said that in 2009, Zong Qinghou’s father had hoped to formally include Du Jianying’s son, Zong Jichang, in the family genealogy.
