該視頻發布後，引發部分日本網民大量轉發和二次傳播，部分帖文的瀏覽量甚至達到千萬級。韓國警方在公告中指出，該男子散布的不實訊息煽動公眾焦慮，造成社會混亂，並損害了韓國的國際形象，因此被認定為「重大犯罪」。警方表示，待事實查明後，將依法採取行動，追究其法律責任。

The man, who claims to be Korean, posted videos in Japanese on online platforms, falsely claiming that “numerous dismembered bodies have been discovered in South Korea,” seemingly attempting to defame Chinese tourists and incite public alarm.

The Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) stated that the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Cyber Investigation Unit has officially opened a case against the blogger. Authorities plan to verify his identity, nationality, and location, and are considering pursuing legal action under provisions of the Telecommunications Business Act. Reports indicate that the blogger primarily targets Japanese audiences and operates a YouTube channel with approximately 960,000 subscribers. On October 22, he uploaded a video claiming that “37 bodies with only the lower halves remaining were discovered in South Korea, and another 150 cases are being secretly investigated.” In the video, he also falsely asserted that since the South Korean government implemented visa-free entry for Chinese tour groups at the end of September, public safety in Korea has “collapsed.”

The video quickly spread among Japanese internet users, with some posts receiving tens of millions of views. The KNPA stated that the blogger’s actions stirred public anxiety, caused social disruption, and damaged South Korea’s international reputation, classifying it as a major crime. Police have emphasized that, once the facts are verified, appropriate legal measures will be taken.

Authorities further highlighted that such false information disseminated via overseas social media not only harms national interests but may also negatively impact tourism to South Korea and the investment environment. A police official commented: “We will continue to take swift and decisive actions to prevent fabricated information from causing social unrest, while protecting the public’s right to accurate information.” This incident underscores both the challenges of regulating cross-border online content and South Korea’s heightened vigilance against overseas misinformation.
