The 2026 Pokémon presentation, Pokémon Presents, officially aired on February 27, 2026 (Pokémon Day) at 10:00 PM Taiwan time. As the event coincided with the franchise’s 30th anniversary, the broadcast featured an expanded lineup of announcements, including the reveal of the tenth-generation mainline titles along with numerous game updates and cross-media projects. It has been widely regarded as one of the most content-packed presentations in recent years.

The biggest highlight on the gaming side was the official unveiling of the tenth-generation titles, Pokémon Winds / Waves, scheduled for a worldwide release in 2027. The announcement signals the franchise’s transition into a new era. In addition, a relaxed, sandbox-style life simulation game titled Pokémon Pokopia was confirmed for release on March 5, 2026, for the Nintendo Switch 2, supporting up to four-player cooperative gameplay and serving as one of the new console’s key launch-period titles.

Classic titles also made a return, drawing strong attention from longtime fans. Pokémon FireRed / LeafGreen became available immediately on the Nintendo Switch eShop for USD $19.99 per title, with compatibility for Pokémon HOME, allowing players to manage and transfer Pokémon across different games. Meanwhile, the GameCube classic Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness was announced to join the Nintendo Switch Online game library for Switch 2 in March 2026, bringing a beloved legacy title to modern hardware. A new action-based battle game, Pokémon Champions, is also scheduled for release in April 2026, focusing on real-time combat and competitive gameplay to expand the series’ battling experience.

Card game and mobile titles received major anniversary updates as well. The Pokémon Trading Card Game will release special 30th anniversary merchandise in 2026, including reproduction cards featuring original-era designs aimed at collectors and nostalgic fans. TCG Pocket will host a “30 Days of Gifts” campaign, allowing players to earn rewards equivalent to up to 30 card packs through daily logins. Pokémon GO will hold a large-scale 30th anniversary event from March 7 to March 9, preceded by the global Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos event on February 28. Additionally, Pokémon UNITE announced the arrival of the Legendary birds—Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres—as playable battle participants, further expanding strategic options in matches.

Beyond games, the presentation also revealed several cross-brand collaborations and real-world events. A brand-new Pokémon LEGO series of building sets was officially announced, marking continued expansion of the franchise into the toy and collectibles market. The 2026 Pokémon World Championships (WCS) were also confirmed to take place in San Francisco, USA, from August 28 to August 30, where top players and fans from around the world are expected to gather.

Overall, this Pokémon Presents not only celebrated the franchise’s 30th anniversary with a mix of new titles and nostalgic revivals, but also outlined the brand’s long-term direction—strengthening connections between generations of games, cloud integration, competitive play, and cross-industry collaborations, further reinforcing Pokémon’s position as a global entertainment powerhouse.
