Initially, Doraemon was not blue when he was first manufactured; instead, he had yellow skin and ears, similar to other childcare robots produced at the time. Heartbroken, Doraemon went to the seaside and drank from the Fountain of Vitality. The powerful energy caused his body to vibrate, and after three days and nights, Doraemon was found by Dorami, who discovered that his gold plating had worn off, revealing his original blue color.
