Nightclubs can easily lead to conflicts due to various factors, including:
1. Alcohol and drugs: Nightclubs often serve alcoholic beverages, which can impair judgment and emotional control, leading to uncontrolled behavior and increased likelihood of conflicts. For instance, in Taipei's East District nightclubs, it's common to see people using drugs in the restrooms. Once, a young man appeared disoriented and spilled white whiting all over the floor.
2. Crowded environment: Nightclubs are usually overcrowded, creating a stressful atmosphere that can lead to emotional discomfort and conflicts.
3. Competition and jealousy: Nightclubs are social places where people often compete for attention or attract the opposite sex, leading to jealousy and conflicts. For example, sometimes women who are approached by others may feel unhappy and complain to their boyfriends or friends, leading to violent incidents.
4. Misunderstandings: The noisy environment of nightclubs can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts due to mishearing or misinterpreting others' intentions.
5. Cultural differences and values: Nightclubs attract people from different cultures and backgrounds, which can result in differences of opinion and conflicts, especially when some individuals feel unhappy about others' behavior or remarks.
6. Nightclubs belong to the entertainment industry, and the ownership structure of most nightclubs in Taiwan is quite complex, often requiring support from gangs to operate normally. Sometimes, powerful individuals also hold stakes. In general, nightclubs are potentially high-risk places, and people should remain vigilant in such environments to avoid situations that could lead to conflicts.
After living in Ukraine for over a year, Xiao Wei found it difficult to date women in normal social events. So, upon the invitation of a Chinese friend, he decided to experience the local nightclub culture. Women in nightclubs were nice, with some gathering around the bar hoping men would buy them drinks. A bottle of mineral water, which usually costs around $16UAH outside, was priced at $100UAH in the nightclub. Xiao Wei managed to avoid the $1000UAH entrance fee by pre-registering. He encountered several Ukrainian men who initiated conversations and even introduced him to several beautiful women. Xiao Wei, who had enjoyed watching Korean group videos since childhood, started dancing in the club, attracting the attention of many women. Instantly becoming popular, he obtained the contact information of many women. Unlike in Taiwan, people here were friendlier, and women were more willing to chat, even though most of them couldn't speak English. Xiao Wei decided to go to the nightclub every week to enjoy the youthful years he missed out on in Taiwan.
