在國外千萬不要用種族歧視的字眼!
去年,台灣人Howard在烏克蘭結識一位年僅23歲的烏克蘭年輕人。這位年輕人非常友善,有時候他們一起喝咖啡或吃飯。然而,Howard最近注意到他習慣使用"nigger"這個詞。Howard告訴他這樣做是嚴重的黑人歧視,也是非常不禮貌的。但是對方似乎毫不在乎,甚至說在烏克蘭沒有人會介意。隨後,他還用 "Aigga" 這個詞稱呼Howard。儘管Howard試圖勸阻,但都無效,最終只好被迫將他拉入黑名單。這種根據別人的膚色說出歧視的言論就是種族歧視。許多無意識的歧視最終都可能引發衝突,甚至是戰爭。希望這位年輕的烏克蘭人能夠改掉這種不良的習慣。
稱呼黑人為 "nigger" 是一種極具侮辱性和種族歧視的用語。這個詞源於美國的奴隸制度時期,被用來貶低和羞辱非裔美國人。在當今社會,這個詞已被普遍認為是不禮貌、不尊重和不可接受的,因為它具有極大的種族歧視和創傷性。同樣地,稱呼中國人為 "chink" 或 "aigga" 也是種族歧視的行為。這些詞是對華裔或亞裔人士的侮辱,被認為是不尊重和不可接受的用語,因為它們對個人和整個族群都造成傷害。
在美國,使用這些具有種族歧視意味的詞語被視為不法行為,甚至可能觸犯反歧視法律。美國法律禁止在公共場合或工作場所使用種族歧視用語,這些用語可能會導致民事訴訟或刑事指控。此外,這種言論也違反了許多公司和機構的政策,可能會導致工作懲戒或解雇。因此,在美國,這些詞語的使用被視為不道德和違法的。
Last year, Howard, a Taiwanese man, befriended a 23-year-old Ukrainian youth while in Ukraine. The young man was very friendly, and they would sometimes grab coffee or have meals together. However, Howard recently noticed that he had a habit of using the word "nigger". Howard informed him that using such language was a serious form of black people discrimination and highly impolite. However, the young man seemed indifferent, even saying that nobody in Ukraine would care. Later, he even referred to Howard as "Aigga". Despite Howard's attempts to dissuade him, it was ineffective, and he was eventually forced to blacklist him. Such remarks, based on someone's skin color, constitute racial discrimination. Many unconscious forms of discrimination can ultimately lead to conflict or even war. Hopefully, this young Ukrainian man can change this harmful habit.
Referring to Black people as "nigger" is an extremely offensive and racially discriminatory term. It originated during the period of slavery in the United States and was used to degrade and humiliate African Americans. In today's society, this word is universally considered impolite, disrespectful, and unacceptable because of its profound racial discrimination and trauma.
Similarly, calling Chinese people "chink" or "aigga" is also an act of racial discrimination. These words are insults directed at individuals of Chinese or Asian descent and are deemed disrespectful and unacceptable because they cause harm to individuals and entire communities.
In the United States, the use of these racially discriminatory terms is considered unlawful and may even violate anti-discrimination laws. US law prohibits the use of racially discriminatory language in public places or workplaces, which can lead to civil lawsuits or criminal charges. Moreover, such speech violates the policies of many companies and organizations, potentially resulting in disciplinary action or dismissal from employment. Therefore, in the United States, the use of these terms is viewed as unethical and illegal.
