近期台灣爆發多起食品安全問題。3月底,兩名男子在「寶林茶室信義A13」用餐後身亡,驗出體內含有「米酵菌酸/邦克列酸」。隨後,四名消費者在台北市藏壽司用餐後,三人出現紅疹,另一人出現腹瀉和噁心症狀,疑似食物中毒。4月初,有民眾前往王品集團旗下的「初瓦」及「響辣」用餐後,分別有32人及50人陸續出現嘔吐和腹瀉症狀。還有四位民眾疑似購買八方雲集某分店的玉米濃湯和鍋貼後產生嘔吐和腹瀉。陸續發生這些事件的原因包括:
