Despite the ongoing war in Ukraine, the shipment of goods remains normal. JOEY, a Taiwanese volunteer currently in Ukraine, brought a Japanese Zojirushi rice cooker to conveniently cook meals. However, he discovered that he needed to buy a voltage converter to use it, which was prohibitively expensive. As a result, he decided to send the rice cooker back to Taiwan.
At the local post office, the staff, although slow in their actions, provided very friendly service. During the shipping process, he had to fill out three identical forms, including the sender's and recipient's information and the contents of the package. Once completed, the post office weighed and shipped the package. Because Ukraine recognizes the One China policy, all items must first be sent to China before being forwarded to Taiwan. Shipping by sea takes only two weeks, while air mail takes at least a month.
The process for receiving items locally is similar. Vendors send the goods to a nearby post office, and the recipient can choose to pay upfront or opt for cash on delivery. If choosing cash on delivery, a small handling fee is charged. When the package arrives at the post office, the recipient receives a notification via SMS. The entire process is similar to that in Taiwan.
