Lao Lai lived in Ukraine for two years and has compiled a list of the disadvantages of local women:

Body Odor:

Due to their physiology and dietary habits, some Ukrainian women might have body odor issues, particularly underarm odor. This can be bothersome to people around them, especially in social settings or enclosed spaces. They often use perfume at work to avoid embarrassment. Similar to Russians, they tend to have a lot of body hair, which is why Chinese people refer to Russians as "Big Mao" and Ukrainians as "Second Mao."

Spending a Lot of Money on Appearance:

Ukrainian women generally place a high value on their appearance, willing to spend a significant amount of money each month on clothing, cosmetics, manicures, and hairstyles. This can lead to financial strain, particularly for those with lower incomes, affecting other aspects of their lives. Nail salons, in particular, do very well in Ukraine.

Revealing Clothing:

Many Ukrainian women prefer wearing revealing clothes, which may be considered inappropriate or impolite in certain cultures or settings, potentially leading to misunderstandings or unnecessary attention. Especially in Odessa, some women practically wear lingerie when going out.

Stubborn and Strong-Willed, Prone to Conflicts with Partners and Elders:

Ukrainian women often have a strong sense of self and independence, which can sometimes lead to conflicts with partners or elders. They are not easily compromising, which might cause disputes in family and interpersonal relationships. Many women experience their first sexual encounter around 13 years old and frequently visit nightclubs by 16, with little parental supervision. Thus, any attempt to correct their behavior can lead to significant anger.

Large Lower Body, Prone to Weight Gain:

A characteristic of Ukrainian women is their larger lower body, making weight management crucial. Without proper diet and exercise, they can easily gain weight.

Faster Skin Aging Compared to Asian Women:

Due to genetic and environmental factors, the dry climate in Ukraine leads to faster skin aging among women. Some 17-year-old girls may look like they're 28, requiring more time and resources in skincare to look their age.

Love for Smoking and Drinking, Irregular Lifestyle:

High Expectations of Foreigners:

Due to economic reasons, some Ukrainian women have high material expectations of foreign men, which can be a challenge in international marriages or relationships. They value men’s appearance and attire, and without a good car or house, it’s difficult to impress them. They might have coffee with local men, but expect a fancy dinner with foreigners. This expectation is less common outside Kyiv.

Language Barrier:

Although the younger generation has improved their English skills, overall, the English proficiency among Ukrainian women is still low, potentially causing difficulties in international communication.

Cultural Differences:

The cultural background of Ukraine differs from Western countries, which can lead to misunderstandings and friction in cross-cultural interactions.

Emotional instability: Due to the relatively poor economic situation in Ukraine, some women may face greater work pressure, which may affect their lives and psychological state. Even bad weather can make them depressed all day long. When you disagree with them, you may have to put earplugs in their ears.

They have no concept of financial management: they often spend it all immediately after receiving their salary, and the money cannot be managed by them.

Of course, Ukrainian women have many advantages, including beautiful appearance, strong family values, and good educational background (although diplomas are not valuable). However, traditional perceptions, high expectations for foreigners, language barriers and cultural differences can also be some challenges. When interacting with Ukrainian women, understanding and respecting their cultural background and personal traits is key to building a good relationship. These descriptions are general observations only and do not apply to all Ukrainian women. Everyone is unique and individuals vary greatly. Understanding and respecting cultural and personal differences helps build better interpersonal relationships.
