當地時間7月8日，基輔十個區域中有七個區域遭到轟炸，而當地最大的兒童醫院奧赫馬迪特遭到俄羅斯的導彈攻擊，近八成的設備無法運作，超過五十名輕重病患者已轉移到其他醫院。醫院超過六成的面積被夷為平地，這次攻擊造成超過三十人死亡，一百一十五人受傷。

事後，俄羅斯受到西方國家的嚴厲譴責，但俄羅斯表示這是烏克蘭的愛國者飛彈誤擊，聲稱他們沒有針對平民或兒童醫院發射導彈。

On July 8 local time, seven out of ten districts in Kyiv were bombed, and the largest children's hospital, Okhmadyt, was hit by a Russian missile. Nearly 80% of the equipment is now non-functional, and more than fifty patients, ranging from minor to critically ill, have been transferred to other hospitals. Over 60% of the hospital's area has been leveled, resulting in over thirty deaths and one hundred and fifteen injuries.

In the aftermath, Russia faced severe condemnation from Western countries, but Russia claimed that it was a misfire by Ukraine's Patriot missiles, asserting that they did not target civilians or the children's hospital.
