However, rebellious food items such as hotdog, pickles, and eggs attempt to hinder the smooth progress of cooking. Players can use pepper to stun them or drop burger ingredients from above to block their pursuit. Collecting bonus food items such as coffee, chocolate, and fries replenishes the pepper supply.

The game is divided into six major areas, each containing four levels. Each area displays four symbols, serving as level passwords. Obtaining emoticon paintings adds an extra life. Power-ups have a limited duration. The bottom left of the screen shows the score, the bottom displays the highest score, and the bottom right corner indicates the current lives and pepper quantity.

As players pass through stacked ingredients, they automatically fall to lower levels, along with any enemies present. If ingredients fall on enemies below, they get flattened but respawn after a certain time. Besides single-player mode, there is also a multiplayer mode for two players to compete in completing burger assembly.

The level passwords consist of patterns such as eggs, hot dogs, pickles, tomatoes, and Peter Pepper. For example, the password for level 2-1 is eggs, eggs, hot dogs, Peter Pepper.
