隨著列車的駛進，旅客們來到不同的站點：繁盛的森林、閃耀的海灘、函館的天象館，最後則到達岩手縣。然而，眾人逐漸察覺這趟旅行並不尋常——每一站的景色，竟都與某位乘客最深刻的記憶息息相關，甚至有些地方現實中根本不存在鐵路可達。隨著真相逐步揭曉，旅客們才明白，這是一段關於少女夜羽真白的夢境。

現實中的夜羽真白身患重病，因接受多位捐贈者的器官移植而延續生命，但她卻無法釋懷，認為自己是以「奪取」的方式活下來，並且長期承受移植排斥帶來的痛苦。在夢境中出現的「諾瓦」其實是真白的化身，而與曉等人一同乘車的旅客，正是將器官捐贈給她的人。他們雖然已經在現實中逝去，但在這夢境裡再度聚首，並選擇安慰與鼓勵真白，告訴她要勇敢面對人生，不要背負過多的自責。最終，真白接受眾人的善意，帶著對未來的憧憬回到現實，奇蹟般地擺脫身體上的排斥痛苦。

Starry Sky Train and Shiro’s Journey (Japanese: 星空鉄道とシロの旅, abbreviated as “HoshiShiro”) is a romance visual novel released on December 30, 2020, by the Japanese doujin circle shiratamaco, marking their very first project. On May 14, 2021, the game was brought to Steam with a Chinese localization by inc.ZOFE and Syawase Works, allowing a wider audience to experience its dreamy yet melancholic narrative.

However, the travelers soon realize that the journey is far from ordinary—each location reflects the most profound memories of a particular passenger, and some are places unreachable by any real railway. Piece by piece, the truth unfolds: the entire trip is a dream belonging to a girl named Mashiro Yaha.

In reality, Mashiro is gravely ill and has survived only through multiple organ transplants from deceased donors. Yet she is tormented by guilt, believing her life was prolonged by “taking” from others, while also suffering from the physical pain of transplant rejection. In the dream, Nova is revealed to be Mashiro’s manifestation, while the passengers aboard the train are none other than the donors whose organs now sustain her. Though they have already passed away, they reunite within this dream to comfort Mashiro, urging her not to blame herself but to live bravely. In the end, Mashiro accepts their kindness, returns to reality with renewed hope for the future, and miraculously overcomes the rejection afflicting her body.

From a gameplay perspective, the title adheres to the traditional structure of a romance visual novel. The story is advanced primarily through text reading, with branching choices presented at key moments that affect character interactions and narrative development. The game is distinguished by its soft, beautifully illustrated art style, paired with evocative music and voice acting that together create a dreamlike, bittersweet atmosphere, fully immersing players in its world.

In terms of reception, despite being a modest production from a small doujin team, the game quickly gained wide attention among fans of light novels and visual novels upon release. Players praised its delicate storytelling, particularly the interplay between dream and reality, which resonated deeply with many. The dual identity of Nova and Mashiro was seen as a highlight, symbolizing both hope within the dream and the inner struggles of the real-world girl.
