F-Zero（中文名稱：零式賽車）系列最初由任天堂開發和發行，之後的遊戲與外部開發商合作。系列以其高難度的競賽而聞名，於1990年首次登陸超級任天堂。2001年3月21日上市的F-Zero最高時速（F-Zero Maximum Velocity）是GBA平台的第一部，除在日本上市外，還有歐美版本。

故事設定在第一屆F-Zero賽事結束的25年後，其中五位參賽選手都是全新的面孔，賽道也是嶄新的設計。Fire Field賽道將出現兩次。

遊戲模式包括開始、排名和設定。透過排名，可以查看自己的紀錄；而設定則可調整功能和更換音樂。

遊戲主要分為四個主要關卡，包括一個隱藏的舞台，總共有15條賽道。透過通信連線，最多可以有四位玩家進行競賽，並提供兩種多人模式競賽。為讓玩家熟悉操作，特別將難度分級。初期只有四種車款可選擇，隨著賽事的進行，可以取得性能更強的車種。

每場比賽需繞道五圈，但若發生跳離賽道、能量耗盡或嚴重落後的情況，賽事將提前結束。每完成一圈，就能獲得速度提升，但相應的迴轉能力也會下降。只有在排名前三的情況下，玩家才能挑戰下一場比賽。

The F-Zero series, known in Chinese as "零式賽車" (Zero-Type Racing), was initially developed and published by Nintendo, with later games being developed in collaboration with external developers. The series gained fame for its high-difficulty racing and made its debut on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990. F-Zero Maximum Velocity, released on March 21, 2001, for the GBA platform, was the first installment for this handheld system, available not only in Japan but also in Europe and North America.

The storyline is set 25 years after the conclusion of the first F-Zero competition, featuring five new faces as participants and innovative track designs. The Fire Field track makes two appearances.

The game modes include Start, Ranking, and Settings. The Ranking mode allows players to view their records, while the Settings mode enables adjustments to features and music changes.

The game is primarily divided into four main stages, including a hidden stage, totaling 15 tracks. Through communication links, up to four players can engage in competition, offering two multiplayer racing modes. To help players become familiar with the controls, difficulty levels are categorized. Initially, only four car models are available for selection, with more powerful models obtainable as events progress.

Each race consists of five laps, but events may end prematurely if a player goes off the track, runs out of energy, or falls significantly behind. Completing a lap provides a speed boost, but the corresponding turning ability decreases. Players can only challenge the next race if they finish in the top three in the rankings.
