The story unfolds in a quirky, fantastical version of Edo-era Japan. After returning from an adventure, the protagonist, the thief Goemon, discovers that his treasured “Golden Pipe”—passed down through generations—has mysteriously vanished. This item is not only his weapon but also a symbol of his identity as a master thief. To recover it, Goemon sets out on a comedic, cross-Japan journey with his loyal companion, the mechanical ninja Ebisu-maru.
