This motion-based control system adds a layer of immersion, especially when swinging through the air, where players physically move the controller to release webs, making it feel like they’re truly flying through the city. The combat system also relies on motion controls, with players swinging the controllers to attack, dodge, and counter. Additionally, players can switch between Peter Parker’s regular suit and the black symbiote suit, each offering different abilities and fighting styles.
However, despite the innovative control design on the Wii, the game received mixed reviews. The open-world design and motion controls were praised for their novelty, with the freedom of web-swinging and the detailed recreation of New York City seen as highlights.
