1987年11月30日，Hudson在PCE平台製作及發行一款名為《爆笑人/加藤跟阿健》(カトちゃんケンちゃん/Kato Chan & Ken Chan) 的遊戲，海外版的遊戲名稱是J.J & JEFF，兩位主角變成虛構人物JJ和Jeff。

後來推出的PC Engine mini中包含《爆笑人》遊戲，由於版權問題，玩家遊玩的是海外版，看不到已故的志村建在遊戲中放屁的身影，2007年Wii有推出海外下載版。

遊戲故事以當時節目中的偵探情節為基礎，主角加藤茶和志村健要去破解一宗綁架案。然而，整個過程笑料百出，最後成功救出老肉票後，原本以為會有豐厚的獎賞，卻在結局中出現令人意外的轉折。整體而言，遊戲的操作和畫面與Hudson的冒險島相當類似，選擇一個角色後，另一位夥伴就會在關卡中不時現身。

遊戲共有六個關卡，每關包含四個舞台，總計有二十四個舞台。主要道具包括可恢復兩格體力的水果、恢復四格體力的大漢堡、恢復所有體力的泡麵、咖哩可以補充所有體力，還能讓能量增加兩格，最多二十格。

每關的第四舞台會出現頭目，需要在第三舞台獲得鑰匙，否則必須重新原路再走一次。金幣的唯一用途是玩角子吃老虎機器，有機會賭贏後獲得額外的能量、生命或是貨幣，薯條可以增加主角的胃氣，在美版中則是增加氣體噴灑的距離。取得隱藏起來的Hudson蜜蜂就能增加一生命。

透過十字鍵可以在左或右邊行走，持續按住就能開始奔跑。按上可以進入門後，按下進行蹲下就可使用排氣或是噴霧器(美版)。按I進行跳躍，透過快速移動可以跳得更高。II是腳踢。按RUN可開始遊戲或是遊戲中暫停。按S可在兩個角色中挑選，R+S則是重設遊戲並返回標題畫面。

關卡中有隱藏的舞台，踢到正確的位置就會出現電梯並移動到上方的雲層。夥伴開始往前移動並持續丟出食物跟硬幣。若掉下雲端就立即結束並返回地面。

某些門後有角子吃老虎機，用硬幣才能啟動，每次可用一到五枚硬幣。按I就可以停止轉動。如果押注3個硬幣，在左邊框內出現1個硬幣就能拿回6個硬幣。如果取得三隻哈德森蜜蜂(蜂助)就能賭資X2的生命數。

由於審查的關係，在日版的搞笑元素都被迫修改。例如，加藤跟志村可以放屁被修改成噴灑氣體，尿尿則變成被對畫面後站立。當一人進行遊戲時會發現另一個角色躲以來露出惱怒的表情，在美版卻變成帶著狼面具微笑。當把搭檔從灌木內踢出的時候，日版會露出屁屁，美版則是仍穿著褲子。

遊戲難度高，但也隱藏一些密技：

1.在1-4的地下道有許多洞穴，掉下去就掛掉。在這有隱藏磚塊，跳踢出第一塊磚塊後跳上去再跳踢，這時候上方又會出現磚塊，跳上去後往右上方跳就能在天花板上行走，避開地面上的陷阱。

2.踢燈柱底部就會出現硬幣或是食物。若用最快速度奔跑並跳躍踢燈柱。若成功敲響頂部就能得到額外的生命。若在靜止狀態下踢柱子只能得到50分。最高可以得到2萬分。用五個磚塊以上的路面助跑後，再往燈柱跳踢就能取得一生命。The game consists of six levels, each with four stages, totaling twenty-four stages. Key items include fruits that restore two health points, hamburgers that restore four health points, instant noodles that restore all health points, and curry that not only replenishes all health points but also increases energy by two slots, up to a maximum of twenty slots.

In each level, the fourth stage features a boss that requires obtaining a key in the third stage; otherwise, players must backtrack. The only use for coins is playing the slot machine, providing a chance to win extra energy, lives, or currency. French fries increase the protagonist's stomach gas, while in the U.S. version, they increase the distance of gas spraying. Obtaining the hidden Hudson bee adds an extra life.

Movement is achieved through the directional pad, allowing walking on the left or right. Holding down enables running, pressing up enters doors, and pressing down allows the use of gas or a spray (U.S. version). Pressing I initiates a jump, and rapid movement enables higher jumps. Pressing II performs a kick. Pressing RUN starts or pauses the game, and pressing S selects between the two characters. R+S resets the game and returns to the title screen.

Hidden stages in the game involve kicking the correct location to reveal an elevator that moves to a cloud layer above. The partner starts moving forward and continues throwing food and coins. Falling off the cloud immediately ends the game and returns to the ground.

Behind certain doors are slot machines that require coins to activate, with one to five coins usable each time. Pressing I stops the rotation. Betting three coins and having one coin appear in the left frame returns six coins. Getting three Hudson bees allows gambling for a double life count.

Due to censorship in the Japanese version, comedic elements were modified. For instance, Kato and Shimura's ability to fart was changed to spraying gas, and urination was altered to standing after facing the screen. When one player is in the game, the other character hides with an angry expression. In the U.S. version, they wear a wolf mask and smile. When kicking a partner out of the bushes, the Japanese version shows their buttocks, while the U.S. version retains their pants.

The game is challenging but hides some secrets:

1.In the 1-4 underground passage, there are many caves, falling into which results in a game over. Hidden bricks are present; kicking the first brick, then jumping and kicking again when on top, causes bricks above to appear. Jumping to the right upper corner lets the character walk on the ceiling, avoiding ground traps.

2.Kicking the bottom of lampposts produces coins or food. If running at full speed and jumping to kick lampposts, successfully ringing the top provides an extra life. Kicking lampposts while stationary only yields 50 points; the highest score is 20,000. With a running start of more than five bricks, jumping and kicking the lamppost allows gaining a life. Positioning the lamppost closer to the left side of the screen makes obtaining a life easier.

3.Continuously kicking the guards or thieves' thrown cans yields high points, up to 20,000.

4.To increase the number of lives, first obtain the Hudson bee in level 1-3, which adds a life. Then, in level 1-4, upon seeing a green spring, jump on it to return to level 1-3. Repeating this process accumulates more lives. Having nine or more lives is advantageous for later levels.

5.To discover hidden stages or characters, the key is continuous kicking. Sometimes, guards hide in trees; kicking them down results in gaining 1,000 points, up to a maximum of 7,000 points.

6.The fastest way to clear levels is to notice three connected bricks in 1-4. Breaking the right-side brick and jumping down reveals a level selection area. Jumping to level three and reaching 3-3 allows using a mouse to jump to the upper bricks. This allows reaching the final 6-4 level. Since there is no key, returning to level 6-3 is necessary.
